Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida has such great variety of dive sites for experienced scuba divers, we think that you will want to return again and again. Don’t forget the Mola Mola Season runs from July to October but Manta Rays are seen all year around in Bali.

Just a short forty five minute boat ride from Sanur harbour will get you to some of the best dive sites in Bali, actually in the world. Enjoy the beautifully clear waters and amazing corals at Crystal Bay. Dive with the magnificent Manta Rays or relax and enjoy an exhilarating drift dive on the north of the islands at sites such as Sakenan and SD.

Scuba Diving at Nusa Penida can be challenging so be sure to check out the diver requirements below.

Amed

Diving at Amed on Bali’s beautiful north east coast is not to be missed. This small and peaceful fishing village, clustered around a single road, is a scenic two and half hours drive from our Sanur Shop in the south of Bali.

*If you are staying in Amed or Tulamben, you may also wish to visit the page for our Amed shop and join the trip directly from the local area (Tulamben to Amed is approximately a 20-minute drive).

There are a number of dive sites in the wonderful bays that make up Amed, perfect for a day dive trip and great for snorkelers too.
This once sleepy fishing village has benefited from dive tourism and facilities for divers are now very good. You can enjoy a restaurant lunch on the seafront just meters from where you don your dive gear and walk into the ocean.

Tulamben

Tulamben is a quiet seaside village that has become world famous for the hugely popular USAT Liberty Shipwreck which most scuba divers regard as the best shore entry wreck dive in the world.

Travel time from our Sanur shop is about 2.5 hours one way, whereas from our Amed shop it’s just a short 20-minute drive.

Diving at Tulamben is not limited to the USAT Liberty Wreck, there are many other sites, all quite different and all boasting an incredible abundance of marine life. Sites such as Drop Off, Coral Garden and Seraya, on their own make a dive trip to the peaceful north east village of Tulamben worthwhile.

Padang Bai & Tepekong

Padang Bai and the nearby Blue Lagoon dive sites are located on Bali’s east coast, around a 1 hour and 15 mins drive from Sanur Shop.

This area offers scuba divers an excellent variety of dive conditions. From the calm, sheltered waters of Blue Lagoon — ideal for first-time divers and beginners — to sites such as Jepun, Turtle Neck, and the Jetty, there is something for every experience level.

More advanced sites in the area include Gili Tepekong and Gili Mimpang, which are recommended only for very proficient and experienced divers, as currents here can be strong and unpredictable.
